Deborah Slywchuk, CFP®, CDFA

Certified Financial Planner

Deborah is the newest member of the Sound Financial Strategies team, she is a Certified Financial Planner and a home town girl, born and raised in Sudbury.

Deborah began her career in the financial services sector with Sun Life in 1993, bringing with her an abundance of administrative and practical experience from her previous role as a legal secretary. She holds her Branch Manager’s License and will be able to offer additional support to the organization from a compliance and regulatory perspective.

Between the years of 1994 to 1997 Deborah obtained both the Associate Customer Service (ACS) and Associate Insurance Agency Administration (AIAA) designations through the Life Office Management Association. Her initial focus was to pursue an upper management position with an insurance company head office; these early years provided an excellent foundation from which to grow a highly organized and client focused practice.

Deborah’s desire changed early on as she enjoyed working directly with clients to uncover solutions to their risk and retirement needs. This would lead to her obtaining the license for Life and Accident and Sickness Insurance, as well as successfully completing the Canadian Investment Funds course in 1998. In 2004 she began the coveted Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and was proud and relieved to achieve the designation in June 2007. Knowing the importance of being able to support clients in many aspects of financial planning, in February 2011, she achieved the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst designation and is looking forwarding to cultivating this arm of the Firm in partnership with Susan Nardi.

Deborah comes to us with a woman’s perspective on financial planning and is looking forward to sharing this perspective with new and existing clients. Please feel free to call on Debbie for all your insurance and investment needs.
